Kimberly Hurvitz, MD

After excelling in her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Hurvitz knew she wanted to provide expert dermatology care to patients in her hometown of Santa Barbara. She graduated summa cum laude with her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Hurvitz completed her dermatology training at the University of Southern California and served as chief resident of her program during her last year.

Dr. Hurvitz currently is board certified in dermatology and has been practicing since 2002. She specializes in skin cancer screening and detection, and offers the most advanced treatments available. Because Dr. Hurvitz has extensive experience and education in skin cancer and complex skin problems, she has become a trusted and respected expert in dermatology.

Patients of Dr. Hurvitz also can receive the latest aesthetic skin treatments. Dr. Hurvitz offers dermal fillers, botulinum injections, laser treatments, and many other types of in-office beautifying procedures. With her inviting and compassionate approach, Dr. Hurvitz’s patients feel at ease and comfortable with their medical or cosmetic dermatology treatments.

When Dr. Hurvitz isn’t busy with patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband who is an orthopedic surgeon. As a mother of three children, she stays active with her family in the community. Dr. Hurvitz often dedicates her spare time to caring for underserved patients while volunteering for the American Academy of Dermatology and Skin Cancer Foundation. She strives to educate her patients about preventing and detecting skin cancer early on.


Sean Fisher, PA-C


Sean has been practicing dermatology for over ten years. He received his Masters degree in Health Science from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He is board certified by the Medical Board of California and continues his growth by attending conferences and lectures in the field. Sean is skilled at identifying and treating skin cancer, performing full skin exams, treating actinic keratosis (precursor lesions to squamous cell carcinoma), treating acne, psoriasis, eczema, warts and various other skin conditions, performing biopsies, excisions and is adept at using a variety of lasers and chemical peels.

Sean takes great pride in making sure each and every one of his patients is treated with compassion, kindness, and respect. He encourages them to ask questions so they can be actively involved in their treatment plan. Sean grew up in Santa Barbara and is honored to give back to the people of his community. He is happily married with two daughters and loves to spend his free time with his family and surfing.


Danielle Rutz, RN, Aesthetic Specialist

She has been part of our team here at Advanced Dermatology and Aesthetic Center since 2016. Danielle attended CSU Channel Islands where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and trained directly under the instruction of Kimberley Hurvitz, MD. She is currently working on her master’s degree in preparation to become a Nurse Practitioner and furthering her aesthetic knowledge. Danielle is a skilled provider of natural beauty and aesthetic techniques including laser skin rejuvenation, chemical peels, neuromodulators, and dermal fillers.

Danielle is known for her warmth and dedication to client satisfaction. She focuses on helping her clients achieve natural looking results, while also providing patients with realistic expectations. In her free time, Danielle enjoys running on the beach, hip-hop dancing, and bringing her dog Bugsy to the park.
