Botox
For years Botox has helped so many men and women successfully treat wrinkles and facial creases. As people age, they long for a more youthful appearance. Botox is able to give them this.
Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle is then not able to contract. This causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. Botox is typically used on the forehead lines, around the eyes, and frown lines. Typically wrinkles are caused as we age, but they are also brought on by sun damage and gravity.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a laser. This laser is an intense and pulsating beam of light that will remove unwanted hair. The laser will damage the hair follicles, which ensures that they stop growing. Although laser hair removal is most effective for people with light skin and dark hair, we welcome people with all different skin tones and hair colors.
Chemical Peels (VI Aesthetics and ZO Skin Health)
A chemical peel is a treatment to improve and smooth the texture of your facial skin, causing dead skin to slough off to reveal new and healthy-looking skin.
Chemical peels use specific formulations and are safe to use on almost all skins. They vary in strength because they are designed for your skin type or condition. During your consultation, our friendly and educated plastic surgeon will be able to determine which chemical peel and treatment program will be best for you depending on your goals.

Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT)
At Advanced Dermatology and Aesthetics Center, we are proud to offer Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) to our patients for various skin conditions including Actinic Keratoses and several forms of skin cancer.
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a medical treatment that uses photosensitized agents and certain wavelengths of light energy to treat various forms of cancer and other skin conditions such as acne.
There are some limitations to PDT as light can only penetrate 1/3 of an inch of tissue meaning, this treatment may not be appropriate for conditions that are not on the surface or deep within the body.
Process
Photosensitizing agents are chemicals or drugs administered to the body through topical, oral, or intravenous (IV) methods.
The agents are absorbed by cells, though normal cells will dispose of the agent within a few hours, the agents will remain in cancerous or precancerous tissues. It may take anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days for the agent to be distributed properly throughout the body.
Light is then applied to the cells at a specific wavelength, activating the photosensitizers to produce oxygen that is toxic to the targeted cells causing them to die.
PDT is typically performed as an outpatient procedure meaning you can return home after treatment. There is no anesthesia associated with the procedure unless the area being treated within the body.
It can be repeated if necessary and combined with other forms of treatment such as surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy.
Are there any side effects?
The treated area may become sensitive to light following treatment. As such, it is important that patients take proper precautions to protect their skin and avoid sunlight or bright lighting.
Some other common side effects include swelling, pain, itching, and redness around or on the treated area.
